Strength & Conditioning

At Evanston Township High School, our Strength & Conditioning program is designed to help student-athletes build power, speed, endurance, and resilience—both in and out of season. Through intentional programming and expert coaching, we aim to reduce injury risk, improve performance, and develop lifelong habits for health and wellness.

Program Goals

  • Enhance athletic performance through structured, sport-specific training

  • Promote injury prevention with proper movement mechanics and strength development

  • Support year-round training with a focus on safe, progressive conditioning

  • Foster mental and physical discipline that translates beyond athletics

Training Philosophy

Our program emphasizes movement quality, consistency, and intent. Whether you're new to the weight room or an experienced varsity athlete, every student receives coaching tailored to their needs and experience level. We prioritize safe lifting techniques, mobility, and foundational strength as the building blocks for peak performance.

Strength and conditioning sessions are offered to:

  • All ETHS student-athletes

  • PE classes with a strength training component

  • Off-season athletes looking to maintain or improve performance

Some teams have designated lift times. Contact your coach or the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator for more information.
