Raising Evanston’s Performance Standards — REPS
REPS is a free program designed to give young athletes the chance to practice and grow in the sports they love all year long. Led by ETHS student-athletes, each one-hour Sunday session focuses on building fundamental skills in a supportive and fun environment. Sports are offered in 3–4 session blocks, scheduled about a month before each season begins, helping kids prepare with confidence for their upcoming competitions.
To participate, families simply need to ensure their child can attend the sessions for their chosen sport and complete the registration form at least two days before the first session. Check out the full schedule and details below—we look forward to seeing your child getting their REPS at ETHS this year!
Reps Matter
REPS isn’t just about skill-building—it’s about mentorship. Through our S.E.R.V.I.C.E. initiative (Student-athletes of ETHS Ready to Volunteer to Ignite the Children of Evanston), Wildkit athletes volunteer their time to teach the sports they love to younger students. By making training accessible to everyone—not just those who can afford club sports or private coaching—REPS ensures every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and feel connected to the ETHS athletic community.
"Skills are learned, confidence is earned—one REP at a time."
How REPS Promotes Equity in Athletics
REPS was created to level the playing field—giving all athletes access to meaningful skill development, regardless of their financial situation, transportation access, or club sport involvement.
In many communities, athletic growth outside of the season depends on expensive club teams, private trainers, or travel to suburban facilities—opportunities that aren’t accessible to everyone. These barriers can prevent students from continuing to grow in their sport.
REPS removes those barriers by offering:
-
Free training sessions—no cost to participate
-
On-campus access—no need to travel
-
Student-led structure—empowering athletes to pass on knowledge and give back to their community in a meaningful way.
